effects of toxoplasmosis infection on the levels of IL-18 and anti-ds-DNA antibodies in SLE patients

The present study was set to demonstrate the prevalence of toxoplasmosis infection and its effects on patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) through determining their serum levels anti-dsDNA IL-18 antibodies. For this purpose, sera from 132 SLE and/or 30 healthy women, were collected. sample divided into four groups SLE, toxoplasmosis, coinfected control. Anti-Toxoplasma IgG antibodies examined for all samples using ELISA kit. results showed a high mean level anti-Toxoplasma among (104.8792±12.31585pg/ml) in comparison that (91.1705±12.57746pg/ml). However, value significant (P≤0.01) elevation (71.2134±9.22131pg/ml 72.3699±9.67917 pg/ml, respectively), compared those infected only Furthermore, studied (418.4000±43.18072pg/ml) (354.4400±35.29257pg/ml). investigation suggests seem increase SLE.
